Q: Do you support institutions of higher education?

A: We do not make direct grants to individual schools. The McGraw-Hill Companies focuses the full range of its giving resources in support of programs that increase the abilities of people to learn, to grow intellectually and to master new skills, so as to maximize their individual talents for school, work, home and community. With limited resources, however, we are not able to respond favorably to all the requests we receive annually. To say yes to some schools and no to others is especially difficult for us since so many excellent schools are customers of The McGraw-Hill Companies. For that reason, the Corporation confines its support of higher education to our Matching Gift Program, augmenting the generous contributions made by our employees and retirees to eligible schools throughout the United States, that are approved by one of the six regional accrediting commissions.
