Other Graduates

Every minute of every day, we at The McGraw-Hill Companies are expected to deliver intelligent and timely information to global markets in a variety of industries, including education, finance, business, and government, to name a few. The Associate Development Program (ADP) was established in 1993 and is designed to attract highly skilled individuals with leadership talent who will bring fresh perspectives and make significant contributions to The McGraw-Hill Companies right from the onset of their careers with us.

The ADP program is an 18-month rotational program seeking to find the most talented recent MBA graduates who want to grow, invest and connect with us as we achieve our growth strategies.

The ADP associate is expected to draw upon prior professional experiences as well as his/her academic training to contribute new ideas to each of three, six-month rotational assignments. At the end of these assignments, the associate will assume significant leadership responsibility within one of The McGraw-Hill Companies’ business units.

We seek highly qualified individuals for this selective program, and have minimum guidelines and criteria, which we utilize during our candidate search process.

ASSOCIATE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM – QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications include:

  • An MBA degree, preferably from one of our core group of leading business schools
  • A minimum of four years prior business experience (marketing, general management, financial services, e-commerce a plus)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Technology and e-business acumen
  • Willingness to relocate and/or work globally
  • Foreign language proficiency/international experience emphasized

Why do we need you?
All forward-thinking organizations need to consistently make themselves the best they can possibly be – with new ideas, approaches, and talent. The ADP program is a highly visible program, designed to utilize your experiences (academic and professional) to drive us to excel and achieve success.

If you are selected for the ADP program, here’s what you can expect:

  • Three challenging and dynamic rotational opportunities which will expose you to our various businesses, their customers and markets, and prepare you for a leadership position within the organization that meets your career desires and our organizational needs.
  • Highly visible assignments in our various businesses; for example, Standard & Poor’s, McGraw-Hill Education, BusinessWeek, or one of our Corporate functions (e.g., Corporate Planning).
  • The opportunity to work side by side with our senior managerial and executive talent, addressing the company’s growth strategies and implementing bottom-line objectives.
  • An executive mentor who will assist you in learning the organization, its culture, its strengths and weaknesses, and who will help you in every way possible to insure your success.
The selection process for the ADP program is rigorous. Candidates are selected from a core group of leading business schools. After an initial on-campus interview, second-round candidates will be invited back for "Head Office" interviews, where they will have an opportunity to meet with and talk to some of our senior business executives. Candidates who progress to the final stage will be invited back to interview with Harold (Terry) McGraw III, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer.
